Questioning Mistakes, Sex, Winning, Chasers, Thinking, and Love

“When you find your path, you must not be afraid. You need to have sufficient courage to make mistakes. Disappointment, defeat, and despair are the tools God uses to show us the way.”
-- Paulo Coelho

So, I got this update from "Grammarly" today.  I'm doing pretty good.

I was more productive than 96% of the users. I was more accurate than 84%. I used more unique words than 96% of users.

But, to put this in context, I almost failed high school.  If anybody tries to set you back, tell them to go to hell.  Strive to be more than they think you are.  The military was a Godsend. God bless all those striving to be more.

Is it sometimes hard to admit your mistakes?
Yes, and you learn from those times. Honesty can be a bitch, but we learn from the mistakes we make so we mitigate making the same mistakes again.
What is worse than making an honest mistake?
Knowing that you’re making one, and you do it anyway.
Is it wrong that I've stopped appealing when stupid [this site's] moderators delete my responses due to calling a "stupid person" stupid?
I have also run into this. Makes one wonder if the accused are running the operation. What ticks me off is when we spend time and effort to write a response, and they don’t take the time and effort to review it, so it gets disapproved. I understand disapproval, but not because of their incompetency.
How quickly can two strangers fall in love?
How quickly can they strip? They can worry about the “baggage” later.
How do you know when something is wrong but haven't been called to do anything about it?
You don’t. If you know something is wrong, you should be addressing it. If you know something is wrong and do nothing, you are as accountable as those who caused the issue. Ass chewings will commence. Pink slips are peeking…
“When all things go bad, do not think so badly about all things, instead think about the things that made all things bad and change something!”
-- Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
What makes you have chills during sex?
Cold hands.
What is your first thought when you have a misunderstanding with someone?
“There’s a misunderstanding here, dumbass.” My second thought, however, is that it might be me.
How often is it appropriate to say, "That's a good question"?
When it’s a substantially good question, and there might be several.
Isn’t it awkward when a woman says “I love you first”?
Not when I reply, “But, I love you more!” Is it a competition?
My ex-boyfriend (30) broke up with me because of his mother. What should I do?
He’s 30 and he broke up with you because of his mother? If I were you, I’d be looking for a real man, not a mama’s boy.
“Most young men are such bores. They haven't lived long enough to learn that they are not the wonders to the world they are to their mothers.”
-- L.M. Montgomery
Have you ever seen anyone who you never thought had it in them get in a fight and win?
Yeah, me. I was bullied for most of my high school years. I finally snapped and took a tree limb to an asshole, and I would have beaten him to an inch of his life if my friend hadn’t pulled me off of him. From that point, I got my ass beat regularly, standing up for those who wouldn’t stand up for themselves.
Do we need good teachers or good leaders?
Both. Our teachers, by in large, suck. And, as for our leaders, Joe Biden? Really?
Why is forgiving yourself the hardest thing for anyone to do?
People like to shift blame. I did this during my divorce. Then, several years later, I took responsibility for my part in the bad marriage. I accepted the apology I knew I was never going to get from her, and then I forgave myself. I have been truly happy for almost 20 years now.
What do you do when your wife wants another man to have sex with her?
Divorce.
What are the consequences of someone being bad at something and not admitting it or accepting their failure?
On the far end, we have death and mayhem. In the near end, they will find themselves looking for a job. In the middle, if you have a great manager, they have to accept the reality of their performance before an accident.
“Never beg for mercy. Accept that you have failed. Begging is for dogs and humans.”
-- Paolo Bacigalupi
What is the best way to handle a chaser in an argument?
Drink the bourbon first.

Can a rational thinker ever engage in the process of anchoring, denying, or using a mental trick, to minimize something?
You did say they were rational thinkers, right? They’ll work through it. If they were emotional thinkers, probably not so much. Emotional thinkers will probably blow the whole thing out of proportion.
Do you agree with the saying, "A stolen wife is a happy wife"?
It would depend on the stamina of the stud who stole her.
What are some ways to prevent failure before trying something new?
Admit you suck at what you do. If you don’t, there may be no chance to try something new, as you might be dead or critically maimed.
What does a spouse want when they stop talking?
Someone else.
“When one is not mindful of their continued misconduct, they cannot discern the distinction between right and wrong; wisdom dictates silence is the best approach.”
-- RJ Intindola
What is a good response to someone saying “You’re not always as smart as you think you are”?
“Not always…”
What causes some people to have difficulty thinking critically and making their own decisions without being told what to think or do by others?
Lack of quality parenting. I run into this all the time. They were never brought up to think critically or make their own decisions. Parents did all the thinking for them, or the parents just let them do whatever they wanted. Most of our young people suffer from this today, especially in large cities. Watch the news.
What is the best way to deal with people who don't know what they want?
Order what you want, or order a double martini.
What are the flaws of the perfect woman?
No one is perfect, and even God is suspect. But, she might be especially excellent, in which case the “flaw” might be that she knows it.
How is it bad that I don’t want women to like me?
If you’re gay, probably not so much.
“Dignity will only happen when you realize that having someone in your life doesn’t validate your worth.”
-- Shannon L. Alder
How can you know what your girlfriend wants out of life and love?
Ask her. Only she knows.
How insecure do you think you are on a scale of 1 to 10?
I’d have to say I’m a 1. I’m retired and pretty sedate. Almost nothing rattles me. I also have an arsenal, which makes me feel pretty secure since the military taught me how to shoot.
Why does he keep me around when he loves his ex?
Because he can. The bigger question is, why do you stay?
Why do these people always dislike me and go to my questions to say things with an attitude to make themselves feel good?
They are the League of the Perpetually Offended. It’s what they do. I ignore them. they are infantile and not worth precious time. What is worse is when they bait you with a question and then berate your answer to them. You will find they break down into name-calling in short order. They really have nothing cogent to offer.
Who do the best liars learn from?
Better liars.
“No man has a good enough memory to be a successful liar”
-- Abraham Lincoln
What happens if you fall in love and then suddenly lose interest in the same person without any reason whatsoever?
Que sera, sera. Not much you can do but apologize and move on down the road. I find it hard to believe this would happen for no good reason, but it might. I never looked upon love as a switch you can simply flick on and off.
What are some things that guys don't want girls to do or be?
Lesbians.
What do you do when you have no faith?
We all have faith. Faith is simply a belief in something for which there is little on no proof. If you go “all in” while playing Texas Holdem, you have faith that your hand is the best around the table. There is little or no proof for this, but there is faith.
What are the steps to being a perfect man?
There’s no such thing as a “perfect” man. The most he can strive for is excellence.
Can an empath ever stop loving someone?
They don’t have to ever love someone. They are, however, “exceptionally sensitive to the emotions and frame of mind of nearby individuals.”

Definition: “An empath is an individual who feels more empathy than an average human. Empaths are exceptionally sensitive to the emotions and frame of mind of nearby individuals. Empathy is a natural state that enables a person to build an emotional connection through cognition with other individuals.”

(Re: disclaimer cum "get out of jail free" card)

Before you go getting your panties in a bunch - it is essential to understand that this is just an opinion site and, as such, can be subjected to scrutiny by anyone with a differing opinion. It doesn't make either view any more right or wrong than the other. Opinion, presented in this context, is a way of inciting others to think and, hopefully, to form their own opinions if they haven't already done so. This is also why, occasionally, I will present an "opinion" just to stir an emotional pot. Where it may sound like I agree with the statements made, I'm more interested in getting others to consider an alternate viewpoint.

I fervently hope that we keep open and active minds when reading opinions and while engaging in peaceful and constructive discussion, in an arena of mutual respect, concerning those opinions offered. After over twenty years of military intelligence, I believe that engaging each other in this manner, and in this arena, is the way we will learn tolerance and respect for differing beliefs, cultures, and viewpoints.

We all fall from grace, some more often than others; it is part of being human. God's test for us is what we learn from the experience... and what we do afterward.
