Don't You Love Long and Short Answers?

“Life is filled with unanswered questions, but it is the courage to seek those answers that continues to give meaning to life. You can spend your life wallowing in despair, wondering why you were the one who was led towards the road strewn with pain, or you can be grateful that you are strong enough to survive it.”
-- J.D. Stroube

The long answers:

Do honest people end relationships rather than cheat?
If they “cheat” what makes you refer to them as honest? Yes, honest people would be upfront and end the relationship before it got too messy.
How do you get over self-blame? I keep beating myself up over decisions I made 5, 10, or even 20 years ago. I can't seem to forgive myself for bad choices. Why can't I simply move on?
What is done is done. You can’t worry over things that you can no longer control. Apologize for what you did to whoever, accept the apology to yourself, and move on down the road. Life is too short to waste on bullshit you have no control over.
Have you ever been blamed for asking too many questions?
Yes, and I did not apologize. It was my job, and I reminded them of this fact before I continued asking the repetitive questions.
I've been trying so hard to be liked by people that I don't know who I really am. How do I stop doing this and get to know myself better?
Stop trying to be who you aren’t. If they don’t like you for you, they aren’t worth the trouble you’re taking. The way you accomplish what you want is to do exactly what you stated, get to know the real you better. Not what you are, but, rather, who and why you are. Stay away from people, for a bit, and take long introspective walks, thinking about who you really are, and why you exist. You’ll find it isn’t to please people you have to try so hard to be liked by. Try loving yourself, for a change.
What creates every event in our life, destiny, free will, or both?
Everything we do changes our destiny, to some lesser or greater degree. What we do is like dropping a pebble into a pond. The ripples radiate out just like the last pebble, yet different. The ripples spill upon the same shores but to a lesser or greater degree. The ripples also interact with other ripples from other stones dropped by other people around us. Their ripples affect our ripples as our ripples affect theirs.

Our “destiny” is truly not written. The best we can do is to aim for the shore, but when we arrive we will certainly not be the same people we were when we left, and the shore will look much different due to the ripples.

Strive to be always happy on your journey, because our destination, even if we know it, may not look the same as we thought. Better just to be happy that we arrive.

When writing an answer to a question, how do you maintain a critical style and develop an informed personal response?
Too much trouble, for me. How about just giving an honest opinion? I hate reading a page of university babble, so I don’t write it. I figure others won’t read it either. If I open an answer and see a page of writing, I close it. Unless it’s technical, which mine never are, I tell you what’s on my mind, my opinion or from experience, short, and in simple terms even the least of us can understand. I try to do this so I have at least an audience of one, even if it’s just me.
How does being authentic pay off?
Being “authentic” is about being real. If I’m real I have no bullshit to remember about my “unauthentic” self. It pays off in giving honesty, in being true to yourself, treating others with respect, and not like they’re too stupid to see through your charade. It pays off when you get what you give.
Why are cult leaders so much more likely to be enthusiastic supporters of mass-poisonings than your average "9-to-5" workaday member of the general public?

Insanity? A closet sociopath with a side order of suicidal tendency? Workplace violence can’t hold a candle to a cult's desire for the mass destruction of its own believers. I’d say they’re on par with Islamic terrorists, but they don’t kill their own in order to murder others, they just kill their own.

How do all of you out there feel about "GUT INSTINCT"?

You’re playing the odds. Like gambling, the more you know about the subject concerning what you’re feeling, the more apt you are for your “instinct” to be right on. You’re able to put yourself in a given scenario and decide what you would probably do.

I’m lost in life didn’t go to college. I’m 25 and don’t know what to do any advice?

Trade school. They’re also looking for truckers. I understand they’re highering from 18 years of age, on up, because there aren’t enough.

How can I stay humble even with lots of wealth?

It isn’t how wealthy you are, it’s what you selflessly do with your wealth to make the world around you a better place.
Once someone permanently loses everything in their life, especially through their own fault, would the destruction of all life be the only thing left in their mind?
Only if they’re an insane sociopath. Why should everyone else pay for someone their misfortune, especially if it was their fault? Better to commit suicide so S.W.A.T. doesn’t have to take them out.
At approximately what age do men stop looking for excuses to beat people up?
So, if they don’t have an excuse, they beat you up for no reason? Jeeze! Men are real assholes.

What is mankind’s greatest fear in life?

Dying alone is mine. I’m not sure anyone wants to die alone. You hear the stories of people pinned under a rock, or in a cave-in, hurt or lost in the wilderness. Scares me just thinking about dying out there all alone.
Why do people think that being successful is hard?
Attaining a goal can be hard work. Once you’ve attained the goal, you’re done, unless you want to sustain the goal. Sustaining the goal will probably take some continuing work, and it can be much harder.

Success, on the other hand, is being happy in your life. You can work at it or simply make the conscious choice to strive for happiness always and in all things. Wealthy or poor, attaining goals or not, if you have true happiness, you are successful. Not many people find this in life.

Men love through sight, which means that a man must consider a woman physically beautiful in order to feel love and romantic desires towards her. I am not physically beautiful, therefore no man feels love for me. How do I find love being average?
All men are not that shallow, nor do all men love through sight.

Advertise. Find a man who likes small, ugly breasts.
Why don't we hold politicians accountable for lying?
If we arrest all the politicians that lie, who will run the country?
Reader comment:  Great idea, the country would be much more efficient.

My reply:  Yes, agreed, but, this means we elect new politicians. The cycle begins anew. We’re back where we started.
