Questioning Professions, Jobs, Truisms, What, and Good

"We can't all be good at everything. This is partly the logic behind having a team in the first place, so each role can be filled with the person best suited for that role and together, every job and every strength is covered."
-- Simon Sinek
Is there anyone good at every single profession?
You do know how many “single professions” there are, right?
As our world becomes increasingly digital, will emotions become obsolete, or will they evolve into new forms we can't yet fathom?
I don’t see this, as the “digital” stuff annoys me daily. From my phone to my computer, “digital” spins me up. If anything, I think digital will continue to aggravate, or the aggravation will “evolve into new forms that we can’t yet fathom.” God help us.
What if I know more about you?
If you’re a woman, my girlfriend will be pissed.
How do I desire a friendship with God more than anything else?
If you really desire it, you’ll have to take it up with God. I walk on the beach and talk to Him. Some people have conversations at bedtime, and others when they wake up as thanks for another day in paradise so they can try to excel.
Can you explain the difference between knowing something, understanding something, and comprehending something?
I comprehend the overall idea of it. I know its general function. I understand its operating instructions.
How do you find out whether or not your mind is trolling you?
I don’t worry about it. If my mind is "trolling" me, it has to do with sex. So, because I enjoy it, I just don’t worry about my mind "trolling" me.
“Favorite Quotations: I speak my mind because it hurts to bite my tongue. The worth of a book is measured by what you carry away from it. It's not over till it's over. Imagination is everything. All life is an experiment. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls the butterfly.”
-- Pat Frayne

What are some adventurous jobs that pay well, but aren't very common?
Commercial deep-water diving, astronauts, mini-sub pilots, and B-52 Bomber crews, all come to mind.
Why doesn't everything happen all the time?
Everything around me is happening all the time. Fish are jumping, people are sleeping, people are waking up, people are going to work and getting off work, cars are on the roads, cars are in the garages, people are being born and people are dying, people are sick and people are getting well. yadda, yadda, yadda. Everything is happening all the time. It just depends what what you mean by “happening.”
If you could fix anything that you find is wrong in this world, what would it be and why?
Hunger.
Why is it true that if you look for the evil in everything political you will eventually become evil yourself?
It isn’t true. Evil is evil, especially in politics, whether you look for it or not. All you need is to open your ears to the rhetoric they spew, and you’ll hear and see evil incarnate. Unless you’re simple-minded, it doesn’t mean you will follow the same path.
Why is today the most crucial for everyone's life?
Uh… Because they’re alive? If they were dead it wouldn’t be so crucial.
Is now better than later because later may never come?
Well, when you think about it, it makes a lot more sense than saying later is better because now may never come. Right?
“Tomorrow is promised to no one. Prioritize today accordingly.”
-- Gina Greenlee
Can it be true that the most dangerous person is the one who listens, thinks, and observes?
It can be, as much as the same person can be the safest to be around.
Why is noticing or observing a problem much easier for the brain than finding a solution, and why are most people so poor at problem-solving?
The problem is usually audible or in your face. If a car knocks, I know there is a problem. What I don’t know is how to fix it. This is where the technician at the car dealership comes in. Most people don’t have to solve their problems, and, if you’re like me, you have so few problems life is truly happy.
Why does it take somebody forever to answer my questions?
I’ll get back to you on that.

Why is having power a desire for some people?

People, in general, don’t understand that “power” comes at a price. The price can be unknown and more than many are capable of paying.
Why I do I rarely get answers for my questions on this site?
Are your questions as understandable as this one?
Why does [this site] have a lot of silly questions?
Do they attract a lot of silly people? I have no idea, mostly because I only answer the questions, not ask them. I come across of few “silly” questions, but no truly stupid questions. And, even the stupid questions deserve an answer. Someone needs the answer. As long as they don’t ask the same question twice, they’re on the right path.
“It’s not a silly question if you can’t answer it.”
-- Jostein Gaarder
Is happiness and joy my?
What?
What is the reason why one should not be afraid of anything despite knowing that there are things that might harm him/her but still stay positive and optimistic about them?
Stupidity is the reason I see. A healthy understanding of our fear is what we use to keep us alive. To not recognize the need for fear is to walk across a busy highway without looking.
What’s wrong with watching videos backward or in reverse?
Not a thing. If it flips your skirt, then do it. Knock yourself out.
What is your quirkiest hidden quality?
I talk to myself. Actually, I am my best critic when it comes to negativity. I chew myself out for stupid things. If one were to be with me, they might hear me say to myself, “You’re an idiot.” And, it would be true.
How do you overcome procrastination while studying?
Study what you truly want to learn.
Why do I frequently do stupid things, like leaving things in the refrigerator that I shouldn't leave in there, or leaving messes behind, and a lot of times I don't even realize what I'm doing?

You have what many of us have to work on, a lack of focus. It pays dividends to slow down and think about what you’re going to do. Think what you’re doing. And, then, think about what you’ve done, and what you need to do, to finish the process. It is all a matter of taking some time to focus on every aspect of life and think about what you’re doing.

“Very occasionally, if you pay really close attention, life doesn't suck.”
-- Joss Whedon
If I spend too much time progressing on a professional level during my twenties, will I regret it? Will I feel like I missed out on something? I would like answers from people above 30 years old only.
I’m 70, and I’d rather do it during my 20s than waiting till my 30’s. Get her done.

Why would someone think they could do no wrong and place the blame on others?

Misplaced responsibility. “Oh, my goodness! It couldn’t be me.” They can’t take responsibility for anything bad, so they shift the blame to others. Deep down, they know they are the culprits, but they just can’t own it. The real problem here is that everyone around them knows they are the ones responsible.
Lillian Hellman said, "Cynicism is an unpleasant way of saying the truth." Is cynicism always truthful?

Most people are driven by self-interest. Cynics believe this and are usually right, but not always.

Since my IQ is 75, I feel very sad. And most of the time I feel worthless. What do you suggest?
You are just about “low average.” Let me tell you this, the tests are what you are ready for, and if you aren’t ready, you get a low score. I almost didn’t graduate high school. I knew I was smarter than people thought, but I wasn’t given anything I wanted to learn. I got drafted for the Vietnam conflict, so I joined the Air Force. The test they gave me placed me in the top 10% of personnel. I spent the next 23 years in the Air Force Intelligence Division. It isn’t what you score as much as what you want to learn. Take the test again, and know you are worth the effort you put out. Shoot for the moon and you will surprise yourself.
I'm 23 years old and never travelled abroad. How rare is that?
Not very, unless you’re in the military or are close to Canada or Mexico. Most people just can’t afford it. It's about as rare as Americans spelling "Traveled" with two Ls. Happens all the time.
What is true strength in your opinion?
Being truly happy always and in all things, regardless of your circumstances. It is a choice.
“Violence is weakness. True strength comes not through brutality and savagery, but through tenderness, mercy, and grace.”
-- Mango Wodzak
How do you do it good?
I become knowledgeable, and then when I do it, I pay very close attention to details and critique my work.
How is it that good people are capable of the most evil?
They provide the "balance" that the universe craves. Without evil, we wouldn’t know what good is. There will always be evil, even if it’s people just being bad. There must be balance.
Have you ever had to tell your boss they were wrong? If so, what happened?
Yes. He thanked me for correcting him.
Why am I looking for a job because I am jobless?
Most good people have the desire to be useful and to earn a wage doing it. They have a problem with sucking from the public teat of welfare. There is a sense of pride in having a job instead of pulling checks for doing nothing. And, there is always the knowledge of knowing that people look at you differently.
Is faith ever logical?
Faith is a belief in something for which there is little or no proof. If you have little or no proof, how can faith be logical? Faith gives birth to hope. Need I say more?
Do politicians only become honest once they’re out of office?
Were they honest when they were elected? If so, they might revert to honesty, but I wouldn’t bank on it. Once a politician, always a politician. It is hard to teach old dogs new tricks when the new tricks are old and don’t give them the “warm fuzzy” they got as a politician.
"Honesty is the first chapter in the book of Wisdom."
-- Thomas Jefferson

(Re: disclaimer cum "get out of jail free" card)

Before you go getting your panties in a bunch - it is essential to understand that this is just an opinion site and, as such, can be subjected to scrutiny by anyone with a differing opinion. It doesn't make either view any more right or wrong than the other. Opinion, presented in this context, is a way of inciting others to think and, hopefully, to form their own opinions, if they haven't already done so. This is also why, occasionally, I will present an "opinion" just to stir an emotional pot. Where it may sound like I agree with the statements made, I'm more interested in getting others to consider an alternate viewpoint.

I fervently hope that we keep open and active minds when reading opinions while engaging in peaceful and constructive discussion in an arena of mutual respect concerning those opinions offered. After twenty-three years of military intelligence, I believe that engaging each other in this manner, and in this arena, is a way we will learn tolerance and respect for differing beliefs, cultures, and viewpoints.

We all fall from grace, some more often than others; it is part of being human. God's test for us is what we learn from the experience... and what we do afterward.
