Questioning Society, Life, Blame, and Selling Sex

"Have you heard the saying, 'sex sells'?
Well, I'm the supplier."
-- Lyra Parish

Historically, why do women sell sex?
No overhead. Everything they need they carry with them. They can do business anywhere. All they have to do is tell the price and let the good times roll. If they’re really good, the money they stand to make is beyond the pale. They can retire to the islands early enough to still enjoy life.
We call dogs loyal but not intelligent when they are easier to train cuz they do what we ask. We don't accuse cats of stupidity when they are non-compliant. Why accuse our fellow humans of stupidity when they are non-compliant with Covid restrictions?
Cats are intelligent, dogs are smart. Both have their place in our lives, for varying reasons. I would never deign to slight either. Neither would I slight those who choose not to vaccinate. It is a choice.

The price of real estate has dropped a bit since COVID due to the glut of housing that has become available. I’m invested in Real Estate Investment Trusts that deal in mortgages. The decision of so many to not vaccinate has done me no harm. I applaud their strength of character.
For the functioning of human society, is competition more important than loyalty and cooperation?
Competition forces innovation. I think you need all three to have a sustainable society that moves forward instead of standing still.
Why is life so difficult and full of struggles?
To make you think. We are responsible for our lives. Our destiny rests with the choice and decisions we make for our life. It separates the wheat from the chaff, those that can from those that can’t, the doers from those that don’t.

Life is about learning lessons to prepare us for what comes next. If you don’t learn you’ll probably repeat this life until you do - your personal hell on earth. Nothing like failure to force some introspection, and failure is also the best way we learn. Critique why you failed, try again, and move forward or repeat.
Didn’t Lincoln enter the Civil War to free the corporations?
Well, he didn’t enter it to free the slaves, or the Emancipation Proclamation would have been signed at the onset of the war, not toward the end. It was about economics, cotton, and sugar, and slavery. After the war, since he'd “freed” the slaves, Lincoln had to send troops back into Louisiana to find black field hands to pick the cotton in Mississippi. Just when you thought you were free, Lincoln has you back picking cotton.  Hallelujah.
“I am often asked “Why do Southerners still care about the Civil War?”… Because it is unique in the American experience. Defeat was total, surrender unconditional and the land still occupied.”
-- Tim Heaton

Why do ugly-looking people think they deserve to feel happy?
Because how they look has nothing to do with how they feel. True happiness is simply a conscious choice each of us must make for our lives. Why would someone think “ugly-looking people” don’t deserve to be happy? Who are they to judge? Judgment of another is the “ugly” side of humanity. It says more about those that judge than about those being judged.
Are you prepared to rejoin society after this last Omicron push recedes and resume some sense of normalcy?
Screw Omicron. I’m a walking serum. I’m so tired of hearing conflicting guidance. I always have a mask, but I’m already living a relatively normal life.
Why do we get ahead of God when we are fearful of failure?
You can try to comprehend that failure is simply an opportunity to learn. Look for why you failed, correct it, and try again, and again, if need be. This is the best way we learn and how we mitigate having the issue again.
Is it better to pray for good grades than to study?
You won’t learn anything from praying, except that God helps those who help themselves. So, better you should study and actually learn something useful for your future.
Why is everything always about you and your needs?
It is never about me, and I have no needs except to continue to be happy always and in all things. I try to keep drama out of my life, even though some think I need it. I really don’t.
“Manifest plainness,
Embrace simplicity,
Reduce selfishness,
Have few desires.”
-- Lao Tzu
Why do I admire the way he never looks for pity even though he has had a hard life? The way he just gets on with things and the success he has become despite everything is so sexy to me.
I think you’ve just answered your own question. He rises above looking for pity. He doesn’t wallow in misery, even though life hasn’t been easy. He has stood back up when he was knocked down and attained a goal for himself. Hell, even I find him sexy. Stop asking why and go get him.
When in your life did you get a wake-up call that made you appreciate life more?
Every morning. I wake up and thank God for the gift of another glorious day in paradise and another chance to excel in life. Hey, any day on this side of the dirt, is a great day.
What are some of the benefits of being attractive?
Women are always checking you out and staring at your ass. They’re always inviting you to dinner or drinks, or both. Then they think they can just take you to their place like you’re easy. So, I wink at them and shake my ass, accept the invitation to dinner and drinks, and try to act like I’m hard to get when we arrive at their place. I am so easy.
Why do you need a hot girlfriend?
I don’t. I prefer someone with more than good looks. If she has both, that's a bonus. People need to wade into the deeper end of the pool and relax a bit.
What are the most desirable values to have as a person?
The most desirable values are a personal code of moral ethics you will stand by, come hell or high water. There is nothing more important. Your code of ethics is what will define you to others… if they care to really look.
"Four be the things I am wiser to know:
Idleness, sorrow, a friend, and a foe.
Four be the things I'd been better without:
Love, curiosity, freckles, and doubt.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
Three be the things I shall have till I die:
Laughter and hope and a sock in the eye.”
-- Dorothy Parker
Are ambitious goals better than achievable ones?
Usually, but they are also usually so much more difficult to attain.
What is the thing that you make happy?
The innocence I see in a child’s eyes.
Why is it so fun to see ugly-looking people in pain?
This is a sick idea of fun.
Are you sleeping right now?
No. How can I be sleeping and reading this?

Does sex on the first date mean she is cheap?
No. It probably means she’s easy... or, hard up.
What are your initial impressions of the Biden presidency?
Can you hear the crickets? Even they have no comment.
Who do you believe are the top 3 most despicable people in history?
Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot. The death toll is still incalculable.
What do you do to not eat at night time other than sleep?
Who eats their sleep?
What are the three things you want to achieve this year?
Exercise, lose weight, and re-build a downed section of mom’s fence.
What is the best way to verify if an autograph is real?
Watch while they sign.
Why do I want to die when I'm drunk?
Because the reason you drink isn’t working. Best you stop drinking.

Why should I spend time learning how to invest?
Would you like more than your Social Security check when you retire?
Can a husband pay rent to his wife?
What‘s he renting?
Why won’t my boyfriend have sex with me when I want sex?
Maybe you need a boyfriend who will accommodate you.
Which makes me more masculine, a topper or a bowler?

A Bowler, and a walking stick or umbrella. So John Steed-ish.

Am I to blame for how I acted on a first date?`

You own how you act. Did you act poorly?

What should I do if my girlfriend wants me to suck her toes?
Wash them first.
Using a condom with your partner, is it a matter of trust, playing safe, or not loving your partner enough?
I’d call it being responsible.
What's the most amazing breakfast food in the world?
Cheesy grits with butter.
Do some people only get into relationships for sex?
Well, yeah.
“So much of sexual desire comes from the belief that another body can alleviate our aloneness. It can’t do that, but people believe it can. When one body doesn’t work, they look for another. When we don't feel alone, we don't look for anyone’s body or personality to fill the void. There is no void.”
-- Donna Goddard

Editor's Note
(Re: disclaimer cum "get out of jail free" card)

Before you go getting your panties in a bunch, it is essential to understand that this is just an opinion site and, as such, can be subjected to scrutiny by anyone with a differing opinion. It doesn't make either opinion any more right or wrong than the other. An opinion, presented in this context, is a way of inciting others to think and, hopefully, to form opinions of their own, if they haven't already done so. This is also why, occasionally, I will present an "opinion" just to stir an emotional pot. Where it may sound like I agree with the statements made, I'm more interested in getting others to consider an alternate viewpoint.

It is my fervent hope that we keep open and active minds when reading opinions and while engaging in peaceful and constructive discussion, in an arena of mutual respect, concerning those opinions put forth. After over twenty years with military intelligence, I have come to believe engaging each other in this manner and in this arena is the way we will learn tolerance and respect for differing beliefs, cultures, and viewpoints.

We all fall from grace, some more often than others; it is part of being human. God's test for us is what we learn from the experience, and what we do afterward.
