More Mostly Short Answers

"I'd like to be better at short, snappy answers."
-- Alice McDermott

What is the most life-threatening vice or addiction to indulge in?
Fentanyl.
What should I do if my boyfriend chooses his family over me? His parents are sick so he decided to go back to his home country. I said it’s fine but asked him to come back after 3 years. He said he couldn't promise me.
Move on.What would make you really happy right now?
I’m not sure I can mention this with a mixed audience. What motivates you to live your life every day?
Waking up.
Why is it that when I am crying tears of joy, my hand trembles?
Who is making you cry tears of joy, and what are they doing?
What will you say to someone who just recovered?

From what?
My wife, an actress who was astronomically and unfathomably beautiful 10 years ago, quit acting for 5 years to spend more time with our children and me. But now, she is aging and is getting fewer roles. Should I feel guilty?
Did you make her quit?
What image of a woman do you find motivating?
As a man, sexually provocative ones.
Why are popular kids always the ones who stick with their boyfriends for about two seconds?
Uh… because they’re popular?
Why can't some people not accept that you don't love them?
In denial, because they truly think they’re all that.
Is the true nature of relationships today a pursuit of what value (i.e., what someone has to offer) rather than the abstract concept that is love?
Well, it explains why the ones based on sex seem to fail.
How long did it take God to create this world?
Not long, and that may be the problem.
I prefer to have guys who talk with me in front of me. Is it okay?
Yes, or find new guys.
Does society place unreasonable expectations on others without consulting them?
Yes. Half of society in the U.S. is trying this, now.
Why should two people who like each other never become friends?
Who came up with this bullshit?
I have feelings for this masculine girl character. Am I gay?
Why do you care?
What will happen if a person doesn't poo for 10 years?
Other than being full of poo? They will die in the first year.
Why do I die if I don't die?
What?
My older brother is getting me into trouble for things I'm not doing. What do I do?
If you won’t get into much trouble, beat the crap out of him.
Why do I love a good hard spanking or caring given by a female?
Don’t we all?
How do I get away from society’s control over me?
In the U.S., become a Republican and vote. Oh, wait, that’s governmental control over you. You can still vote to change society’s rules, as well, though.
What does it mean when your wife said: "I regret to help you in your darkness time"?
You need to find someone who truly and selflessly loves you, in sickness and health, even in the darkest of times.
How do I remember to lock the door?
Put a note on the inside of the door so you see it before leaving. and one on the bedroom door so you check it before bedtime.
How can you forgive someone who doesn’t understand the harm they have caused?
Be selfless. I forgave my ex-wife and accepted the apology I was never going to get. Time to move on.

Editor's Note
(Re: disclaimer cum "get out of jail free" card)

Before you go getting your panties in a bunch, it is essential to understand that this is just an opinion site and, as such, can be subjected to scrutiny by anyone with a differing opinion. It doesn't make either opinion any more right or wrong than the other. An opinion, presented in this context, is a way of inciting others to think and, hopefully, to form opinions of their own, if they haven't already done so. This is also why, occasionally, I will present an "opinion" just to stir an emotional pot. Where it may sound like I agree with the statements made, I'm more interested in getting others to consider an alternate viewpoint.

It is my fervent hope that we keep open and active minds when reading opinions and while engaging in peaceful and constructive discussion, in an arena of mutual respect, concerning those opinions put forth. After over twenty years with military intelligence, I have come to believe engaging each other in this manner and in this arena is the way we will learn tolerance and respect for differing beliefs, cultures, and viewpoints.

We all fall from grace, some more often than others; it is part of being human. God's test for us is what we learn from the experience, and what we do afterward.
