Have you ever gone through a phase of living in your head? Like you sit for hours just imaging realities that don't exist and end up wasting time? If so, how did you get out of that phase?
At 67 years of age, I’m still visiting. I call it my time contemplating the edge of the abyss at the Cusp of Infinity. There is no waste of time unless you squander the moment. I have learned much there, and credit my visits with my writings of “Quasi-Wisdom From the Semi-Ancient Pie Hole Philosopher.” My goodness! Who would’ve thought?
Don’t stop visiting your head. It is where you store all your shit, good and bad. And, who says the realities you imagine don’t exist? They might just be genetic memories of past lives. Stop fighting it and go with the flow. Learn to be happy always, and smile.
What is your insight about "Nothing good will come out with lying"?
The only thing good that ever comes from lying is the truth, and the truth will win out, soon er later. Better to just not lie. I’m one to lie at the drop of a hat, but I usually follow the lie told with the fact that you just can’t trust a word I say about that. So I lie and then rat myself out.
If I like flexing my mental muscles, debating, business-related things, and living an extra life what careers are good?
Politics. All that bullshit comes into play, and you get a career that lasts a long time if no one sees through you. If you’re no good at covering your ass, I’d recommend you file as another liberal democrat. They don't seem to care.
“There are better people in the world, do not let the worst do the worst to you, you deserve the best in life.”-- Michael Bassey Johnson, playwright, poet
What is a good answer according to you?
Yes! Maybe. It depends. Let me sleep on it.
Is there truly a common ground that everyone everywhere could be harmonious in?
Not everyone. The League of the Perpetually Offended would be, well, offended that there was “common ground” to begin with.
Are there any white people who are racist without showing racist comments, behaviors? (Example, thinking of people of color in a racist way, and avoiding them, even where they are not saying or commenting anything racist!)
As certainly as there are blacks who think only black lives matter. We need to come together, and racist hate groups are not the means to an end. Better that we give them no coverage. They are a waste of our oxygen, as they spout their hateful rhetoric. Why can’t we all just learn to be happy always, get along, and help each other succeed in life? Too much to ask?
How should life be spent so it does not give pessimistic vibes?
Make the conscious choice to be happy always. Get rid of all the drama in your life and pay attention to happiness. You invited the drama in, you can certainly escort it out.
What does perfection look like, and how will the world be if all of us were perfect?
No one knows because perfection has never been attained. If we were all “perfect” how much fun would that be? I applaud fingernails down the blackboard.
“When you stop expecting people to be perfect, you can like them for who they are.”-- Donald Miller, author, speaker, businessman
If no one ever got to the top alone, why do so many successful people say that they did it on their own?
Because they’re standing on the rotting careers of all those they screwed to get where they are. Find me one person who gives credit where credit is due and I’ll thank you for searching me out. Just saying. Many of my military brethren might meet this criterion, as well, though they certainly won’t brag on it.
Are there good people who live without any career or life goal ambition just surviving or giving up on every corner? During COVID-19 and a weak economy, should we enforce people to be more humble or lower expectations?
If they’re surviving they haven’t given up. Perhaps they’ve given up on wallowing with the rest of the “pity party” but they haven’t given up on hope. Those who know humility already know how to strive for happiness always. How is this “giving up” by any definition? The meek shall inherit the earth? Perhaps not all that wrong.
Why does getting flowers not make me happy?
Sourpuss! Make the conscious choice to be happy. Smell the damned flowers and be appreciative of the nature that struggled to provide them, and the poor sod who sent them.
“The most important thing is to enjoy your life—to be happy—it's all that matters.”-- Audrey Hepburn (1929-1993), actress, humanitarian
I feel dead and I feel like nothing is real. What is even the point of life? I'm really struggling.
Are there people struggling more than you? Are there lepers? Are there people living, burned beyond all recognition? Are there quadriplegics managing lives despite their handicap? How selfish are they? How dare they continue to live, while you struggle? Perhaps what you need to do is wake up and rise above the supposed struggle of your life. There are always those with less than ourselves who would look at our wallowing in self-pity as just what it is. Find a way to do for those with less than you, selflessly, and you will have a “point” for your life.
Her Response: I get what you’re saying. but I’d also like to think that my feelings are real and valid. I’ve been called selfish for wanting to commit suicide. I’ve been called selfish for hurting myself. and I don't know, maybe it is. but I care about other people more than I care about my own family and I know that's not good, but I'm trying. I really am. seeing people in need tears me to pieces, and I'm only 17 and my mom won't let me get a job. I TRY to help people in any way that I can. even if it's just to listen. but at the end of the day, I feel like I have no one. all I have is my teddy bear. I'm trying. My Reply: I feel for you, but you must rise above this. Those things that te3ar you up, those people in need, they may just be your saving grace. If you feel you have no one, perhaps you have them. You are searching for a path, and this might be your first step. It is your choice. If you do nothing else, strive to be happy.
Is the phrase “respect your elders” specifically just talking about elderly people?
It references anyone “significantly” older than you are, that has been around the block enough times to shame you, if necessary. I would, with all humility, rank among them.
How do you live with perfectionism?
I don’t. “Perfectionism” is striving for a concept you can never attain. Nothing, and no one, is perfect. Well, perhaps God, but even God is in question by the League of the Perpetually Offended. No. I live with what I can accomplish. I strive for more if the outcome is a realistic goal, but I do not delude myself into thinking it comes anywhere close to perfection. Better to strive to be happy always and leave perfection to philosophers.
Author's comment: Thank you, Tony, I really appreciate that response and that outlook. It makes me happy to see other perspectives, especially from people who genuinely have experienced it as well.
Where should I start to understand what makes social media work?
The corporate board room. That is where the controlling bullshit starts, so that's where I’d start. Good luck! There is no ”social media platform” that isn’t corrupt and controlling in some fashion. Learn to work around it, but certainly don’t ever buy into it. Use it as a communication tool. A means to an end. They are, so why shouldn’t you? The minute you buy into their message, you become what Yuri Bezmenov, former Soviet journalist and KGB informant described thus:“The useful idiots, the leftists who are idealistically believing in the beauty of the Soviet socialist or Communist or whatever system, when they get disillusioned, they become the worst enemies. That’s why my KGB instructors specifically made the point: never bother with leftists. Forget about these political prostitutes. Aim higher. They serve a purpose only at the stage of destabilization of a nation. For example, your leftists in the United States: all these professors and all these beautiful civil rights defenders. They are instrumental in the process of the subversion only to destabilize a nation. When their job is completed, they are not needed anymore. They know too much. Some of them, when they get disillusioned, when they see that Marxist-Leninists come to power—obviously they get offended—they think that they will come to power. That will never happen, of course. They will be lined up against the wall and shot.”
Before you go getting your panties in a bunch, it is essential to understand that this is just an opinion site and, as such, can be subjected to scrutiny by anyone with a differing opinion. It doesn't make either opinion any more right or wrong than the other. An opinion, presented in this context, is a way of inciting others to think and, hopefully, to form opinions of their own, if they haven't already done so. This is also why, occasionally, I will present an "opinion" just to stir an emotional pot. Where it may sound like I agree with the statements made, I'm more interested in getting others to consider an alternate viewpoint.
It is my fervent hope that we keep open and active minds when reading opinions and while engaging in peaceful and constructive discussion, in an arena of mutual respect, concerning those opinions put forth. After over twenty years with military intelligence, I have come to believe engaging each other in this manner and in this arena is the way we will learn tolerance and respect for differing beliefs, cultures, and viewpoints.
We all fall from grace, some more often than others; it is part of being human. God's test for us is what we learn from the experience, and what we do afterward.
