Nigeria seems to be forming into yet another failure for "peaceful" Islam. I stand up for Islam constantly as I see the true peace in the Qur'an. But, the faithful of Islam constantly disappoint and this is why I would always have a problem seeing myself as a convert. The Islamic failure in Nigeria is not the kidnapping of 200 school girls by the Boko Haram, an Islamic Terrorist group, nor is it the selling of these girls for $12 to Boko Haram members as their wives which is how monsters like these justify the rape, sodomy, and torture of innocence. The failure in that Islam is again silent; silently condoning the actions of more heretical monsters using the Qur'an, Mohammad, and Allah as justification for anything they do.
My great disappointment in Islam as a whole is not the heretics in their own ranks, monsters that they are, it is the culture of silence which seems to permeate the faith. This silent approval of slaughter and debauchery can in no way be excused as the wishes of Mohammad. I am not Muslim and even I find this silence to be an affront to a religion I had great respect for prior to radical imams reinterpreting the Qur'an to excuse this activity. My question for the followers of Islam: When does the blatant heresy stop? When does Islam take a stand against Islamic leaders that would see the word of Allah corrupted? Shame be on all of you for this, and for the continued silence as these young women are used like garbage. Do we take this as an example of Islamic respect for life?
Terrorist groups like the one in Nigeria, the Congregation of the People of Tradition for Proselytism and Jihad, make me sick. First of all, "proselytism" is defined as the "active policy of inviting or persuading converts," not kidnapping them or forcing them to convert. It was the desire of Muhammad the converts do so willingly. And Jihad was only to be used in self-defense, not as a catch-all excuse to commit wholesale slaughter of innocent women and children just because you have ideological differences. Sharia law has very strict rules for conducting jihad. A jihad is not used to convert, conquer or colonize, take territory to expand Islamic wealth, settle disputes, or to demonstrate the power of an Islamic leader. "Although the Prophet engaged in military action on a number of occasions, these were battles to survive, rather than conquest..." Yet, the Islam of today seemingly chooses to violate all of this, and more.
I wait, with the rest of civilized humanity, for the Islamic outcry against these inhuman monsters.
