Questioning Responses, Goals, Marriage, Bullies, and the Poor

“When you loved someone and had to let them go, there will always be that small part of yourself that whispers, "What was it that you wanted and why didn't you fight for it?”
-- Shannon L. Alder

What is a good response to, "You're such an awful person."?

“You haven’t met my ex.”
Why do people think height matters significantly in a fight?
They haven’t fought a short man who has several “black belts” in a martial art, yet. I learned Judo from a short, older, Japanese man when I was in the military. He was a member of the Air Force Judo Team. He took down every tall guy in the class, just to prove the point that size doesn’t matter.
What does it mean when someone says your life is boring and mundane?
They have a sense of humor.
Is it rude to say, "You need to..."?
It depends on if you’re telling them, “You need to get off the tracks. The train is coming!” Or, “You need to stop moving! The bomb is sensitive to vibrations.”
When do you get into a fight?
When the alternatives fall flat, and there is nowhere to run, it’s time to break his face.
My crush always stares at me. What does it mean?
Are you drop-dead gorgeous? If so, maybe they can’t believe you’re with them. If you’re not, then maybe they’re thinking about how they can get out of the relationship. I’d go with the first, though, especially if they’re smiling. Smiling could also mean they are a serial killer. I’d stop thinking about it and just enjoy their company.
“I’ve been compared to Snow White once or twice, but people tend to run for the hills as soon as I open my mouth.”
-- Lauren Landish
What's the place of God in our goal sitting?
Behave yourself so you can move forward into the next life.
What do you do when you're in an argument with your partner and you don't want to fight?
Leave. I tell my girlfriend she needs to leave, and I give her the look. If she doesn’t leave, then I leave. It sends a message. Stay gone long enough for both of you to decompress. When you return, they can have a discussion, or you can leave again. Sometimes the “message” takes a while to sink in, but one of you needs to be an adult.
Does being single cause heart problems?
It depends on if someone broke it.
What should you do if you are a junior developer and your senior colleagues refuse to work overtime?
Become a senior colleague. Everyone who is “junior” gets the brunt of the work. it is all about paying your dues. They probably went through the same thing. Now, it’s your turn.
What do I do if I don't want to live?
Call the “Suicide Hotline.”
How can we know if the media does not like a politician?
If the politician is a Republican, it is a good bet they don’t like him.  If they do like him, it's a good bet the Republican is a RINO (Republican In Name Only). The media loves these guys. This is why I have a brain.
“Extremes to the right and to the left of any political dispute are always wrong.”
-- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Can marriages be easy to break up?
It really depends on how serious the relationship is. If you can get your foot in the door, maybe the “relationship” isn’t as solid or serious as either of them thinks. I know from whence I speak.
How long does a silence last in relationships?
It depends on the offense... or, who laughs first.
Why are some people unhappy even after achieving their goals, while others are always happy with whatever they get?
Achieving goals has little to do with true happiness. If you aren’t happy before you achieve goals, you won’t be happy for very long after. To be truly happy you have to strive for true happiness always and in all things, regardless of your circumstances. If you can make this simple choice, you will be forever happy in life, because life is its own reward.
What is one way you can begin having a stronger influence on society?
Vote in a country that guarantees fair elections. The United States? Good question.
How do you deal with an unfulfilled desire for success?
I understood that “success” was simply being truly happy, in my life. Everything else was attaining a goal.  So, I made a logical choice. A simple choice. I chose to be truly happy, always and in all things, regardless of my circumstances. With this "choice," my happiness is sustainable until I change my choice. Change my choice? How stupid would that be?
What are some good inspirational quotes for those  just starting their day?
Try this, and I promise to stop repeating:
“Choose to be truly happy always and in all things, regardless of your circumstances.”
-- F.A. Villari
What should I do if my supervisor treats me badly? He kind of bullies me.
If you’re doing the job, then report his treatment of you to the Human Relations department, and then find yourself a new job with much better supervisors who know how to supervise properly.
Do you have any secret techniques which help you to pass laziness?
Other than getting off my ass and doing some work? No.
Did you ever asked yourself could I have been a better person? And what was your answer?
Yes, I have. I could have been better with the military, but I did what I needed to do to survive.

What are some expectations about social change?
Communism, if the socialists are in charge, and indoctrination if we let the teacher’s unions have their way. (I await the abrasive comments from the League of the Perpetually Offended.)
What is your favorite success story that embodies these rules?
I have many success stories, but you have not listed the rules.
What does 100% faster and 200% faster mean? Im really dumb ik please dont judge but look at my recent post for what I mean by this. I don't understand math at all.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong. Math is also not my strong suit. If you do work in 100 minutes, and you can do the same work in one minute, then you can do the same work 100 times faster. The same applies to 200 times faster if you can do the same work in 30 seconds.
"Direction is more important than speed. You can go fast in the wrong direction."
-- Redfoo
What do I do for poor people so that they are happy with me?

Anything you do that is needed and selfless should make the poor happy. If it doesn’t, then you have done a selfless deed they don’t appreciate. Do not their poor attitude prevent you from continuing to offer good and selfless acts for those in need.
I had a dream of searching for an item, and I was so focused on finding that item I forgot another item. What should I do?
Get back into that dream, and make it right.
Why should I follow you on [this site]?
You should only do what you think you should do. If you find my answers helpful, you might think about following me. but don’t do so because I tell you to. You need to decide this for yourself.
My girlfriend is asking for space. What does that mean?
Start looking for a new relationship… just in case.
What dumb thing did you believe for a really long time?
That true happiness was tied to material wealth. It was something my Father believed in. It turned out to be wrong. We should teach our children to be truly happy, always and in all things, regardless of their circumstances. In this way, regardless of how monetarily wealthy they are, their happiness will be sustainable until they decide to choose that it isn’t. It is, after all, a choice.
Author comment: I agree with your perspective that true happiness comes from within and is not dependent on external factors. Keep spreading that wisdom!
Is "cavalier" two different words?
Not that I’ve been able to tell.
"ROUNDHEAD, n. A member of the Parliamentarian party in the English civil war --so called from his habit of wearing his hair short, whereas his enemy, the Cavalier, wore his long. There were other points of difference between them, but the fashion in hair was the fundamental cause of quarrel. The Cavaliers were royalists because the king, an indolent fellow, found it more convenient to let his hair grow than to wash his neck. This the Roundheads, who were mostly barbers and soap-boilers, deemed an injury to trade, and the royal neck was therefore the object of their particular indignation. Descendants of the belligerents now wear their hair all alike, but the fires of animosity enkindled in that ancient strife smoulder to this day beneath the snows of British civility."

(Re: disclaimer cum "get out of jail free" card)

Before you go getting your panties in a bunch - it is essential to understand that this is just an opinion site and, as such, can be subjected to scrutiny by anyone with a differing opinion. It doesn't make either view any more right or wrong than the other. Opinion, presented in this context, is a way of inciting others to think and, hopefully, to form their own opinions, if they haven't already done so. This is also why, occasionally, I will present an "opinion" just to stir an emotional pot. Where it may sound like I agree with the statements made, I'm more interested in getting others to consider an alternate viewpoint.

I fervently hope that we keep open and active minds when reading opinions while engaging in peaceful and constructive discussion in an arena of mutual respect concerning those opinions offered. After twenty-three years of military intelligence, I believe that engaging each other in this manner, and in this arena, is a way we will learn tolerance and respect for differing beliefs, cultures, and viewpoints.

We all fall from grace, some more often than others; it is part of being human. God's test for us is what we learn from the experience... and what we do afterward.
